Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI)’s sister accused the hosts of the first Democrat debate of favoring Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and not giving Gabbard as much time.
Tweeting from Gabbard’s Twitter account mid-debate, she tweeted:
“It’s clear who MSNBC wants to be president: Elizabeth Warren. They’re giving her more time than all the other candidates combined. They aren’t giving any time to Tulsi at all.”
Although Gabbard’s sister was not accurate, according to a time tracker on the Washington Post, it showed that Warren was getting twice as much speaking time as Gabbard.
By 10:21 p.m. ET, Warren spoke more than eight minutes, while Gabbard had spoken under four minutes.
The candidate with the longest speaking time was Booker — who frequently ran past the time allotted for each answer.
Only former Maryland Rep. John Delaney and Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan spoke less than Gabbard at that point in the debate.
