Democrat 2020 candidate Amy Klobuchar pitched at Wednesday’s debate she is the one that can win the presidency away from Donald Trump because she can win Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan.
“I listen to people and that’s how I get things done,” Klobuchar said from the Miami debate stage alongside nine other Democrats battling it out for their party’s presidential nomination. She listed three reasons Americans should vote for her.
The first reason she listed was, “I have a track record of passing over 100 bills where I’m the lead Democrat.”
“Secondly, I’m someone that can win and beat Donald Trump,” she went on, listing her history of political wins including those in areas where Trump won in 2016. “I can win in states like Wisconsin and Iowa and in Michigan.”
“Finally, I am not the establishment party candidate. I’ve got respect, but I’m not that person,” she said. “I’m the one that doesn’t have a political machine, that doesn’t come from money. And I don’t make all the promises that everyone up here makes, but I can promise you this: I am going to govern with integrity, I’m going to… govern for you.”
