An armed robber jumped the counter of an Overland Park, Kansas, Boost Mobile store and was shot dead by the clerk Monday night, say authorities.

KSHB reports that the incident occurred around 7:45 pm. Overland Park Police spokesman John Lacy indicated that the alleged armed robber, Deshawn L. Brim, “demanded cellphones and jumped over the counter.”

A store employee, who was armed, fired one bullet, which struck and killed Brim.

The Kansas City Star posted a video in which police explained that a female at the scene was arrested and taken into custody once officers arrived.
