Jerry Nadler: 'All Options' on the Table for Impeachment

House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) said during a press conference Wednesday that “all options are on the table” regarding impeaching President Donald Trump.

Nadler held a press conference Wednesday after former special counsel Robert Mueller said he did not have the option of levying charges against President Donald Trump, per Justice Department rules.

Chairman Nalder said that Democrats could still impeach the president even though the Mueller report cleared President Trump of collusion with Russia during the 2016 presidential election and Attorney General William Barr found insufficient evidence to say that Trump obstructed justice.

“With respect to the impeachment question, all options are on the table, and nothing should be ruled out,” Nadler said.

Nadler then said that it falls to Congress to hold the president accountable for his alleged crimes.

The New York Democrat claimed that Trump was lying when he said the Mueller report cleared him of collusion and obstruction of justice.

Nadler released a statement shortly after Mueller’s press conference, contending that the special counsel report “clearly” shows that Trump lied about the report’s primary claims that there was no collusion or obstruction of justice.

Nadler stated that “Mueller reaffirmed his report, which found substantial evidence that Russia attacked our political system and that the President sought to obstruct Mueller’s investigation over and over again.”

Nadler pivoted to Congress by saying that because Mueller was unable to pursue criminal charges against Trump, “it falls to Congress to respond to the crimes, lies and other wrongdoing of President Trump,” adding, “And we will do so.”

“No one, not even the President of the United States, is above the law,” Nadler concluded in his statement.
