Montana Democrat Gov. Steve Bullock struggled Tuesday to name his proudest achievement while serving as the leader of Montana’s executive branch.

During his announcement for president on Tuesday in Helena, Montana, one member of the audience asked Bullock what his proudest achievement was as governor of Montana.

Gov. Bullock said:

Um, I am happy that hopefully still know my most important job is being their dad. I think the things where, as governor, it’s not like attorney general, you know where you won or lost a case, sometimes you won’t have impacts for years. I know that 100,000 have healthcare because of the work that we have done.

The Montana governor then claimed that he helped keep “outside influence and dollars” out of local elections so that “your voice matters as long as you vote.”

“I’m pleased with the way that we invested in education. I think that’s one of the great equalizers that we have,” Bullock said. “I think that another great equalizers is our public lands and we protected those, so we’ll hand off that to you as well, so I guess those are a few of the things that I’m pleased with.”

While Bullock has positioned himself as one of the more moderate candidates during the presidential race, he has earned more leftist accolades during his time in the Montana governor’s mansion.

In February, Bullock tweeted out that the flood of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border does not amount to a “national emergency.”

The Montana Democrat said that to “declare it as such is a dangerous precedent.”
Bullock also vetoed the Montana Born-Alive Infant Protection Act, which was designed to protect babies born alive in failed abortions.
