House Republicans will “take action this week” in response to Democrat leadership’s silence on their members’ antisemitic remarks, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy revealed Monday.

“Members of the Democrat caucus have increasingly and alarmingly used anti-Semitic language which has no place in the halls of this Congress and undermines the shared values and unbreakable bonds between the United States and Israel,” McCarthy said in a statement released Monday afternoon.

Newly installed Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI) attacked pro-Israel Americans in the first days of 2019, accusing them of dual loyalty. She, along with fellow Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN) have claimed they are not antisemitic. Omar attacked Israel in 2012, writing, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel. #Gaza  #Palestine #Israel.”

Omar has repeatedly tweeted and retweeted remarks against Jews, Israel, and members of Congress supportive of them.

A guest columnist identified as Tlaib wrote for antisemite Louis Farrakhan’s newspaper and website The Final Call, reports revealed Monday. Farrakhan has said white people “deserve to die,” compared Jewish people to termites, and called Adolf Hitler a “very great man.”

“House Democrat leadership continues to be silent as Americans from both sides of the aisle condemn this rhetoric and pattern of behavior,” he charged. “In the face of that abdication of leadership, Republicans will take action this week to ensure the House speaks out against this hatred and stands with Israel and the Jewish people.”

McCarthy warned in a Breitbart News Saturday radio interview on SiriusXM Patriot that if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi failed to act on the rise in antisemitic comments out of the Democrat caucus, Republicans would take action. He called Democrats remaining silent on the issue, “supportive” of those antisemitic remarks.

“Nancy Pelosi has not said a word,” he told radio listeners. “So that means she’s supportive of these actions.”
