Hamilton County, Ohio, prosecutor Joe Deters says a female store owner was “clearly justified” in shooting a robber dead on January 23.
The store was the Glenway Pony Keg.
WLWT reports the store owner said the armed robber demanded and told her she was going to die.
The owner seized a moment of opportunity, drew a Ruger .380 and shot the robber, 48-year-old James Douglas twice, killing him.
Prosecutor Deters said, “As long as I’ve been prosecutor, I’ve said this repeatedly: If you go into a store with a gun and rob it, you forfeit the right not be shot.”
He added, “[Douglas] was in a horrible spiral. He had kids. I feel badly for the children of this man who has been shot, but he brought it upon himself.”
