As President Trump says he wants to offer a “potential pathway to citizenship” for foreign workers imported by multinational corporations, American workers at Verizon are having their jobs outsourced.

As Breitbart News has chronicled, American Verizon workers had exclusively detailed that mass layoffs were coming at the corporation in an effort to shift all IT work over to Infosys, one of the biggest multi-billion dollar outsourcing firms in the U.S. that has been accused of undercutting American workers and discriminating against black and white Americans in favor of Indian nationals.

Sometime last month, about 44,000 U.S. workers at Verizon were essentially forced to resign and take a hefty severance package or stay on at the corporation until they are eventually laid off and not eligible to receive the severance.

Additionally, following Breitbart News’s reporting, another 1,500 American workers were asked to either move over to Infosys with only a two-year job guarantee or accept the severance package. The majority of the U.S. workers, Breitbart News was told, decided to take the severance package as few wanted to work for the outsourcing firm.

American workers impacted by the Verizon-Infosys outsourcing scheme routinely said the end goal of the corporation is to send their IT jobs to India.

The outsourcing-offshoring business model used by multinational corporations begins by laying off American workers in high-paying, white-collar industries and forcing them to train their foreign replacements, who often arrive in the U.S. on the H-1B visa. Those H-1B visa workers generally work in the country for about a year until the job is moved overseas to developing countries like India, where foreign workers are cheaper.

The outsourcing of Americans’ jobs at Verizon comes just as Trump has reversed course on his “Buy American, Hire American” executive order, writing online that he wants to take it easier for corporations to import H-1B foreign workers to take coveted, high-paying U.S. jobs.

“H1-B holders in the United States can rest assured that changes are soon coming which will bring both simplicity and certainty to your stay, including a potential path to citizenship,” Trump said. “We want to encourage talented and highly skilled people to pursue career options in the U.S.”

Business attempted to outsource nearly 420,000 American jobs in Fiscal Year 2018 to H-1B foreign workers rather than hiring U.S. workers.

As Breitbart News previously reported, more than 2.7 million H-1B foreign workers have been approved to come to the U.S. to take American jobs between 2007 and 2017. During that same period, businesses tried to outsource almost 3.5 million American jobs to foreign workers instead of hiring Americans.

About four million young Americans enter the workforce each year, many looking for white-collar jobs in the STEM fields. Those Americans’ prospects of finding work are crippled by the country’s legal immigration process, which admits more than 1.5 million immigrants and hundreds of thousands of foreign visa workers annually. Already, the wage-cutting business scheme has led to foreign-born workers overwhelmingly outnumbering Americans in the tech industry in Silicon Valley, California.
