President Donald Trump criticized the establishment media for describing the border crisis as “manufactured” by the White House.
“It’s a manufactured soundbite,” Trump said, pointing to a host of news anchors using it. “You know when I hear that term ‘manufactured,’ and you see every single group using it, it’s very sad.”
The president commented during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday at the Southern border.
“That’s the real collision, OK?” Trump continued “You take a look, they all use the exact same term.”
Trump said he was determined to continue fighting for more border security funding that included new border barriers.
“I stayed home for Christmas, I stayed at the White House for New Years … the fact is, I want to be in Washington, I consider it very, very important,” Trump said.
The president said he was still considering whether or not to declare a State of Emergency to direct funds to the border without Congress.
“I think we’re going to see what happens over the next few days … look we’re not going anywhere, we’re not changing our mind,” Trump said.
