Dashcam video from a Florida police chase shows a deputy shooting through his windshield and to take out an allegedly armed suspect.

Volusia County Sheriff Michael Chitwood used a Facebook post to explain that his office got a call Monday afternoon that 33-year-old Dillon Parker was headed their way. Parker was reportedly wanted in connection to an earlier shooting that left the victim in critical condition.

Chitwood said a Volusia County deputy then spotted Parker in the four-door car that had been described. Chitwood said, “Parker allegedly goes into the other lane and comes head-on at deputy. That deputy has to swerve off the road.”

Thereafter other deputies were able to use stop-sticks to disable Parker’s car, but Parker was not done. Rather, Chitwood says deputy Kevin Moss radioed in, “He’s shooting at me, he’s shooting at me.”

Another deputy in the chase then opened fire, shooting at Parker through his windshield.

As the deputy fired through his windshield a DeLand police officer exited his vehicle, pulled up his rifle, and shot at Parker as well.

Parker was taken to a Daytona Beach hospital and listed in critical condition but is expected to live.
