The latest ad from Kansas Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Kris Kobach calls out his Democrat opponent, Laura Kelly, for her record of supporting illegal immigration and sanctuary cities.
As two migrant caravans of 7,000 to 10,000 Central Americans heads to the United States, Kobach is going after Kelly’s open borders voting record. She supported sanctuary cities in Kansas as well as welfare for illegal aliens.
“Laura Kelly is an open borders extremist,” the ad opens. “She voted to allow sanctuary cities, to let illegal aliens have welfare benefits, and to give them in-state tuition rates too.”
“If you want to stop illegal immigration, stop rewarding illegal immigration,” Kobach says in the ad. “That’s one of the important reasons I’m running for governor in Kansas.”
As Breitbart News reported, part of Kobach’s welfare reform initiative includes ending all public benefits for illegal aliens by mandating the use of the federal government’s Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program, which verifies that welfare beneficiaries are in the U.S. legally.
Kobach is running a close race against Kelly, who is considered a staunch ally of former Obama administration bureaucrat and former Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius. Sebelius is most known for implementing and enforcing Obamacare.
