Republican National Committee (RNC) spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany, a longtime ally to President Trump, says there is “no better way to rev up” GOP voters for the 2018 midterm elections than the Democrats’ “smear campaign” against Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh.
During an interview with Breitbart News Political Editor Matt Boyle on a SiriusXM Patriot Channel 125 special on Kavanaugh’s swearing in for the Supreme Court, McEnany said the political left’s accusations of sexual assault against Justice Kavanaugh will only drive Republican voters to the polls in November.
“There is no better way to rev up the Republican base than what we’ve seen in the last two weeks in a smear campaign against an innocent individual, in a Supreme Court seat that was on the line and almost lost,” McEnany said.
“Our polling at the RNC has shown that we need to make sure that our voters understand the stakes, that the loss of the House means the reversal of the Trump agenda, the reversal of the soaring economy, and there’s no better way to show our voters what the stakes are than the last two weeks that played out,” McEnany continued.
“The obstruct, the resist, the smear tactics. The talks about impeaching Kavanaugh before he’s even been confirmed,” McEnany said. “It’s reminiscent of the talks to impeach President Trump, which are baseless. There’s no better way to rev up our base than the last two weeks.”
