A judge sentenced an MS-13 gang member to life in prison Tuesday for murdering a 29-year-old victim inside a Massachusetts apartment and joining a racketeering conspiracy.

U.S. District Court Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV sentenced Hector Enamorado, a 39-year-old Honduran national who also goes by the nickname “Vida Loca,” to life in prison after a federal jury convicted Enamorado of RICO conspiracy and partaking in murder as part of the racketeering conspiracy, the Justice Department announced Tuesday.

Enamorado’s co-defendants, Noe Salvador Perez Vasquez 27, and Luis Solis Vasquez, 27—both Salvadorean nationals—were convicted of the same charges. Perez Vazquez was sentenced in July to life in prison, and Solis Vazquez is awaiting sentencing on October 17.

Enamorado, Perez Vasquez, and Solis Vasquez were responsible for murdering a 29-year-old man inside an apartment in Chelsea after Enamorado got into a gang-related fight with the victim the night before.

Enamorado asked Perez Vasquez to deliver a .380 caliber pistol to him, which he then used to fatally shoot the 29-year-old three times. Solis Vazquez also entered the apartment armed to provide backup support for the attack.

MS-13, the Salvadorean-based gang, has been known for committing heinous crimes on American soil. The gang—which President Trump has repeatedly referred to as “animals”—has beheaded, beaten, and dismembered its victims.
