President Donald Trump explained Tuesday that he had unlimited energy for the campaign trail because he loved it.
“People say, ‘Where do you get this energy?'” Donald Trump said. “You know where I get it? If you love doing it, it’s easy. If you don’t like doing it, not so good!”
The president delivered a keynote speech at the National Electrical Contractors Association convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on his way to a campaign rally in Mississippi on Tuesday night.
During the speech, Trump celebrated the new trade deal with Canada and Mexico as well as with South Korea.
He said he refused to use the name “NAFTA” because it had such bad connotations for American industry.
Trump also promised to keep fighting for better trade deals that would protect American workers, signaling a future deal with countries like Japan.
He frowned upon domestic companies outsourcing their jobs to places like Mexico and Canada in order to avoid taxes in the United States.
“Those days are over, folks,” he said.
“After years of rebuilding foreign countries, we are finally rebuilding our country,” Trump said.
The president said that he would continue to fight government regulations that were strangling businesses and preventing the use of Pennsylvania coal and shale drilling.
