Four persons were wounded and one killed in a Sunday morning shooting that followed an “altercation” at an Auburn, Alabama, McDonald’s.
Police were near the spot of the incident, trying to control a crowd of people, when 911 calls about a shooting came in around 2:20 a.m.
Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that “Auburn Police Officers were already in the immediate vicinity of the call dispersing a large crowd. Officers confirmed shots were being fired and located several victims.”
Sunday morning Auburn Police tweeted that the suspect in the shooting had alluded apprehension:
The City of Auburn released a statement on the incident, explaining that “a 20 year-old male from Tuskegee, AL was discovered deceased, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Additionally, four other individuals were found to be injured from the gunfire.” Three of the wounded–a 17-year-old male, 19-year-old female, and a 21-year-old male–had non-life-threatening injuries. The fourth, a 16-year-old, had “serious injuries.”
Auburn Police note that an “altercation” occurred just before the shooting, therefore they do not believe it be a random attack.
