The tables were turned on a man who thought he was going to rob someone on a New York street when the would-be victim’s buddies delivered a beat down to their attacker.
Jauan Blume, 21, and an accomplice approached a man in the Bronx on Tuesday, pulled a gun, and demanded his jewelry and wallet. Blume then reportedly opened fire on the man. But the victim and his friends acted quickly to attack Blume. The group beat the would-be robber bloody and left him unconscious in the street, the New York Post reported.
Surveillance video shows Blume, wearing jeans and a white t-shirt, approaching the man. But the victim would not go meekly. And it is not long before the victim’s crew attacks the robber and leaves him lying dazed in the street.
The man who Blume attempted to rob suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and a graze wound to his forehead, but otherwise suffered no life-threatening injuries, police said.
The dramatic video posted to Snapchat was entitled, “Thou shall not try to ROB ANYONE ON MY BLOCK with a GUN. Now u LEGEND…Ya other boy ran on you ya big dummy.”
Not only was Blume relentlessly pummeled and kicked — even after he was unconscious — but police reported that he also sustained a gunshot to his arm. Police believe it was an accidentally self-inflicted wound.
Blume was treated at a local hospital and charged with robbery, assault, and criminal possession of a firearm. His accomplice is still unknown, but police also noted they are not looking to charge anyone else in the crime.
