President Donald Trump congratulated General John Kelly Monday on his first year anniversary in the White House as Chief of Staff.
“Congratulations to General John Kelly. Today we celebrate his first full year as White House Chief of Staff!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
Few in the Trump administration have experienced so many rumors about his departure, as the media first expected Kelly to resign in protest to the president’s leadership, later expected him to resign in disgrace over the Rob Porter fiasco, and ultimately expected him to leave in the summer.
As Breitbart News reported on Sunday, people close to the Trump administration increasingly doubt that the president will fire Kelly and instead wait for him to resign at a time of his own choosing.
