Leeta Bigbee has put up a GoFundMe to support her sister, Tia Coleman, after the tragic loss of nearly her entire family.
On that fateful day, 34-year-old Coleman lost nine members of her family—including both of her parents, her husband Glenn, and all three of her children: Evan, Arya, and their autistic son, Reece. Only she and her 13-year-old nephew Donovan survived.
During a broken-hearted statement at a news conference on Saturday, Coleman remembered praying, “Lord, please let me get to my babies,” but “if they don’t make it, Lord, take me, too.” Yet in the wake of this devastating tragedy, Coleman has been left to move on without the people she loved most in the world.
Coleman’s sister Bigbee has responded with comfort and support, but now she is addressing the practical matters as well. Coleman must recover, and bury the people she loved. While “Ride the Ducks” has offered to cover related medical bills and funeral expenses, the GoFundMe campaign could help to provide critical support to someone who has lost everything.
At the time of this writing, over $489,000 has been raised on Tia Coleman’s behalf. If you would like to contribute, you can donate through the aforementioned GoFundMe page.
