A couple from Aurora, Colorado, was charged with animal cruelty for sexually abusing their dog in a mobile home refashioned as a “sex chamber,” police say.
Police became involved after Janette Eileen Solano, 48, called them in March to report being abused by her boyfriend, 50-year-old Fredrick Blue Manzanares. While Solano eventually decided not to press domestic abuse charges, police said she admitted to having sexual contact with her dog as Manzanares filmed them.
Solano alleged that Manzanares began pressuring her to consider bestiality when she discovered animal pornography on his laptop, the Denver Post reported.
“He then spent the next six months introducing her to bestiality videos, bestiality forums, as well as providing her different literature on bestiality,” a police report said.
Solano told Aurora police she relented and began having sexual contact with their shared dog, a Siberian husky named Bubba, in a mobile home that Manzanares had equipped as a sex den. Manzanares outfitted the room for taking video and still photos of the sexual abuse of the dog, according to police.
Police also said Manzanares would often use dog hormone sprays to induce the dog to participate in the sex videos.
In their report, police added that they discovered video and photos of the couple sexually abusing the dog.
Solano also said attention to Bubba eventually became a bone of contention between them and that she was growing jealous of the dog receiving Manzanares’s attention.
Bestiality is a misdemeanor and is treated as animal cruelty in Colorado. The pair was charged with four counts of animal cruelty, including neglect and mistreatment, Fox 12 reported.
