A police K9 helped a Florida deputy take down a suspect who was leading them on a high-speed chase, according to dramatic body camera footage.

The footage, released on Monday by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, showed Deputy Nick Carmac and his K9 companion, Shep, pursuing a stolen SUV Saturday until the vehicle crashed and the two subjects fled on foot.

The quick-on-their-feet duo decided to split up to catch the suspects—Shep chased down the driver while Deputy Carmack went after the passenger.

The video begins with Deputy Carmack going after the stolen vehicle leading him on a high-speed chase. Carmack announced over his radio that he reached up to 90 miles per hour trying to chase the vehicle.

The car then smashed into a utility pole, causing the driver and the passenger to flee the car after impact.

Carmack quickly took down the passenger, placing him in handcuffs before ordering him to run into the woods to find his partner.

Shep grabbed the other suspect, but the suspect kept dragging him into the woods.

“Get off my dog, bro. On the ground. On your face now. I’m gonna tase the s*** out of you,” Carmack tells the suspect.

The man dropped to the ground as Shep grabbed onto his arm.

After the chase ended, Carmack praised his partner’s work.

“In all reality, Shep is Nick’s partner. They go to work together every day. They live in the same house together. Those two are very tight,” Sheriff Nocco said.

David Burton and Jacob Montgomery were arrested for alleged vehicle theft and other charges.
