The Republican party of Pennsylvania unanimously voted to endorse Rep. Lou Barletta (R-PA) for U.S. Senate on Saturday.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania,” Barletta said during his acceptance speech. “It’s time we end the Washington first way of doing business. Senator Casey is resisting our efforts to put Americans first, voting against tax cuts for workers and families, failing to protect the sanctity of life, refusing to secure our borders, and defending dangerous sanctuary cities. One vote in the Senate can determine the direction of our country, and that one vote can be us. I believe in term limits, and Senator Casey’s 12 years are up.”
Rep. Barletta hopes to defeat Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) in the 2018 Senate midterm election.
Several prominent politicians and conservatives have endorsed Barletta for the U.S. Senate seat to defeat Sen. Casey, including President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, Sen. Pat Toomey, the entire Pennsylvania Republican congressional delegation, as well as dozens of Pennsylvania state lawmakers.
A recent poll conducted by Susquehanna Polling & Research revealed that only 27 percent of Pennsylvania voters believe that Sen. Casey deserves another term in office.
“No one in the House of Representatives has been more committed to fighting to protect our borders or to ending dangerous sanctuary city policies than Lou Barletta,” Toomey declared in a statement endorsing Barletta.
Barletta also chided Sen. Casey in an exclusive interview Breitbart News, whom he argued will continue to reject and obstruct President Trump’s agenda:
Here in Pennsylvania, Democrats, Republicans, and independents all voted for Donald Trump because they were rejecting the Obama policies that hurt their jobs here. I want to support the American worker, the Pennsylvania worker, and take this country in the direction that President Trump campaigned on. Bob Casey is going to resist and reject and obstruct everything President trump plans to do. I believe it’s wrong to go against the American people and the American worker, and this one vote, this one seat, could be the entire difference to putting the country in a different direction that the American people voted for.
Barletta told Breitbart News that if he were in the Senate, he could be “the difference, just that one vote,” to repeal Obamacare, secure America’s borders, and stop illegal immigration.
