President Trump is planing to invite French President Emmanuel Macron for an official state visit to Washington, D.C., later this year, CNN reported Monday.

Macron’s would be Trump’s first presidential state visit.

The announcement could come as early as this week, while the president participates in the World Economic Forum in Davos, two diplomatic sources told CNN.

The White House has not formally made an announcement nor has a date for the visit been nailed down, according to the report.

“We don’t have an announcement to make at this time,” the White House told CNN. The first lady’s office did not return the outlet’s request for comment.
