Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski publicly urged Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to remove President Donald Trump from office, accusing him of being mentally unstable.
“You serve America and don’t serve Donald J. Trump,” Scarborough said, pleading with several of Trump’s Cabinet members by name, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Defense Secretary James Mattis.
Scarborough said people “close” to Trump told him the president was “mentally unfit” and had “early stages of dementia”:
“Listen, you can get mad at me if you want to. You can say that’s not okay to say, but it’s reality,” he begged.
Scarborough warned that the United States was on the brink of nuclear war with North Korea, asserting that both countries were being led by unstable madmen.
“Mike Pence, guess what?” he pleaded. “Republicans want you to be president. The Republicans in the House and the Senate would love you to be President of the United States. You know why? Because you’re stable.”
The Morning Joe show hosted liberal publisher Ezra Klein to outline his argument for “normalizing impeachment” of the president.
“Don’t say we didn’t warn you,” Brzezinski said disapprovingly to Republican leaders.
“Five years from now, all of these people will be telling us how they knew Donald Trump had pre-dementia and they knew he wasn’t stable and they going to be all writing the book of ‘what I tried to do,’” Scarborough said. “No. No. Too late.”
