Populist conservative columnist and New York Times best-selling author Ann Coulter says 32-year-old Kate Steinle, who was shot and killed by an illegal alien in California, “would still be alive if we had a wall” between the U.S. and Mexico, as President Donald Trump has planned.
On Thursday, a California jury found seven-time felon and five-time deported illegal alien Jose Garcia Zarate not guilty of murdering 32-year-old Kate Steinle in 2015 in the sanctuary city of San Francisco, Breitbart News reported, despite Zarate’s admission.
Following the shocking verdict, Ann Coulter took to Twitter to share her disgust with the decision, saying Steinle’s death would have never occurred if a border wall had been constructed decades ago in order to stop illegal immigration in the country.
Others reacted to the murder with an immediate demand for Trump: Build the wall.
While walking with her father on a pier in San Francisco in 2015, Steinle was shot by the illegal alien. Steinle pleaded with her father to not let her die, but she soon passed in her father’s arms.
The death of Steinle stirred a national immigration debate, with Americans becoming increasingly opposed an open southern border and cities like San Francisco, which give safe harbor to criminal illegal aliens.
