President Donald Trump tweeted on Thursday that Obamacare continues to implode and that Republicans will repeal and replace Obamacare after they pass a tax reform package.
President Trump tweeted, “Obamacare premiums are going up, up, up, just as I have been predicting for two years. Obamacare is OWNED by the Democrats, and it is a disaster. But do not worry. Even though the Dems want to Obstruct, we will Repeal & Replace right after Tax Cuts!”
A recent Avalere Health report revealed that premiums on Obamacare exchange “silver” plans will rise by an average of 34 percent in 2018.
Senate Republicans included a repeal of Obamacare’s individual mandate in their tax reform package. The House passed their tax reform bill, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, last week. The Senate will reportedly vote on their tax bill the week after Thanksgiving; Republicans hope to send the bill to the president’s desk before the end of the year.
The House passed an Obamacare repeal and replace package known as the American Health Care Act (AHCA) in May. However, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) failed to repeal Obamacare on multiple occasions after Sens. John McCain (R-AZ), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Susan Collins (R-ME) tanked Obamacare repeal.
President Trump and Republican lawmakers pledged to revisit Obamacare repeal after they pass a tax reform package this year.
Trump also tweeted on Thanksgiving, “HAPPY THANKSGIVING, your Country is starting to do really well. Jobs coming back, highest Stock Market EVER, Military getting really strong, we will build the WALL, V.A. taking care of our Vets, great Supreme Court Justice, RECORD CUT IN REGS, lowest unemployment in 17 years….!”
