Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to host a formal apology on behalf of Canada to “LGBTQ2” people.
“On November 28, the Government will offer a formal apology to LGBTQ2 Canadians in the House – for the persecution & injustices they have suffered, and to advance together on the path to equality & inclusion,” announced Trudeau in a post on Twitter, Sunday.
“LGBTQ2” stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (or queer), and two-spirit.
The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD) is currently allowing Canadian citizens to request tickets to attend the apology, and even apply for “travel subsidies,” however the apology will also be available to watch online.
“The CCGSD recognizes that traveling to Ottawa to attend this event is expensive. As such, we do have limited travel funds for those who wish to attend,” declared the CCGSD on their website. “Priority is given to those affected by Government discrimination and those who identify as in-need.”
“Many LGBTQ2S+ persons affected by the discrimination caused by the federal government cannot afford to attend their own apology in person,” they continued, adding, “While the CCGSD has some funds, your donations will truly make a difference.”
Trudeau has previously praised Communist dictator Fidel Castro, whose regime rounded up, persecuted, and even murdered gay people, while in June, he wore a pair of Islam-themed Ramadan socks to a Toronto LGBT Pride parade.
Being gay or bisexual is punishable by death in thirteen countries, all of which are majority-Muslim nations.
