Florida’s Oskaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) says an armed father saved his 17-year-old daughter from four kidnapping suspects who were armed with “guns, a knife, and a roll of tape.”

The kidnapping suspects also had “latex gloves” in their vehicle.

According to the OCSO, the dispatcher received a call on a home invasion, only to discover the homeowner’s daughter had allegedly been pursued to the house and the suspects were trying to get into the home to reach her. The suspects had allegedly put barrels in the roadway, hoping the girl would get out of her car to move them, thereby giving the suspects an opportunity to grab her. Instead, the OCSO says the girl drove around the barrels and the suspects chased her.

When she got home, the father’s dogs began to bark. He retrieved a gun and went to investigate, eventually “spotting some individuals trying to force their way into his garage.” The father “fired three shots and the intruders fled into the woods.”

About that same time, a neighbor called police to report a suspicious car. OCSO soon found the vehicle and took the four suspects into custody. OCSO reports that the suspects “planned to head to [the girl’s] house, confront and subdue her father – who they believed to be wealthy – and rob the home.”

All four suspects are “charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted home invasion robbery.” One of the suspects, Keilon Johnson, is 19-years old. The others are under 18-years of age.

The armed father’s actions come just after another armed citizen, Stephen Willeford, used an AR-15 to end the attack on the church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.
