President Donald Trump denounced Stephen Paddock, the killer behind the Las Vegas mass shooting at a country music concert that killed 59 people and wounded more than 500.
During remarks to reports before a Cabinet meeting at the White House, which included Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Trump offered few new details about Paddock but said the killer was “demented.”
“I guess a lot of people think they understand what happened, but he was a demented, sick individual. The wires were crossed pretty badly in his brain,” Trump said.
He said the United States will continue to support the victims of the shooting and their families.
“It is a very sad event,” he said, promising that the FBI and the Department of Justice will continue to investigate the crime.
