Maryland Man Arrested for Allegedly Clinging to School Bus

A Maryland man who tried to board a school bus and clung to its front after the driver refused to let him inside has been arrested, police said.

Baltimore County Police said Saturday that Leverne Doran, 68, tried to stop the bus after a kid allegedly threw a bottle at his vehicle, the Daily Mail reported.

The video shows Doran allegedly hitting the hood and clinging to a mirror. He shouted to the driver that he should open the door, but the driver refused and repeatedly yelled at the man to get off the bus.

Police say he jumped on the bus after the driver refused to let him in.

WBAL reports that the incident took place “in the area of Putty Hill and Hoerner avenues in Parkville” around 3:15 p.m.

The bus driver did not want to let the man in, fearing that he might threaten the students.

“Allegedly, a bottle of some sort was thrown out of the bus toward that vehicle. At that point, the driver of that vehicle got out of his vehicle,” Sgt. Andrea Bylen said.

“The school bus driver, concerned for his safety and concerned for the safety of the students on board did not want to open the door, so the man then went around to the front of the bus and stood in front of the bus as it began to move forward.” Bylen added.

Doran faces up to four charges, including disorderly conduct, court records show.

“We happened to have an off-duty officer who was present in the area who assisted and intervened quickly,” Bylen said. “He came over, separated all of the parties, and at that time, the suspect was arrested on scene without incident.”
