Two days after the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, the nation is still learning the identities of the 59 people who were murdered and more than 500 who were wounded, stories of heroism from the slain and survivors, and more information about the mysterious killer, Stephen Paddock, who apparently snuck an arsenal of weapons into the 32nd floor of Las Vegas’s Mandalay Bay hotel and casino.

UPDATE – 3:36 PM: UK paper the Daily Star speculates that a leaked photo from the crime scene shows a “note” from Paddock. See the pic here:
Images have leaked showing Paddock lying dead on the hotel room floor with blood pouring from his mouth.
The alleged gunman appears to be wearing a brown shirt, black slacks, loafers and a pair of gloves.
Chillingly, he appears to have left some kind of note on the side table.
UPDATE – 3:27 PM: A more troubling side of Paddock’s personality, reported by the L.A. Times:
The workers behind the counter at the Starbucks inside the Virgin River Casino in Mesquite, Nev., winced whenever Stephen Paddock and his girlfriend, Marilou Danley, lined up for their usual beverages.
That’s because Paddock had a nasty habit of berating Danley in public. “It happened a lot,” Esperanza Mendoza, supervisor of the Starbucks, said Tuesday.
…
Danley stood only elbow high to Paddock, she said.
The abuse would come when she asked to use his casino card to make the purchase, Mendoza said. The card enables gamblers to use credits earned on electronic gambling machines to pay for souvenirs or food in the casino.
“He would glare down at her and say — with a mean attitude — ‘You don’t need my casino card for this. I’m paying for your drink, just like I’m paying for you.’ Then she would softly say, ‘OK’ and step back behind him. He was so rude to her in front of us.”

When asked whether Trump’s base would react worse to this than they would if he supported an immigration amnesty bill, Bannon replied: “as hard as it is to believe actually worse.”
