Delaware State Police say two suspects–at least one of which was armed–burst into a home late Sunday night and only one survived the confrontation with the homeowner.
The incident occurred just outside Bridgeville around 11:55 p.m.
According to Delaware Online, State Police Cpl. Gary Fournier said a man was home alone when the two suspects allegedly broke in. He said “one of the suspects…was armed with a handgun.” The male resident wrestled with the armed suspect and a shot was fired, striking the suspect.
Officers arrived at the home to find the body of the suspect lying in the kitchen. He had been shot in “his upper torso.” WBOC TV identified the deceased suspect as 20-year-old Larry T. Hobbs.
The second suspect fled the scene and is described as “a male wearing all dark clothing and a mask over his face.”
The homeowner was not injured.
