Oklahoma Republican Governor Mary Fallin told Breitbart News in an exclusive statement that she supports the Obamacare block grant repeal plan. Fallin said that block grants are “the best option to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.”
Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin represents a growing number of governors who have come out to support the new plan to repeal and replace Obamacare through block grants. House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC) said that at least “11 or 12” governors support the legislation. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Utah Governor Gary Herbert told Breitbart News in exclusive interviews and statements that they endorse the Obamacare repeal proposal.
Last week Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak revealed to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee that he supports the Graham-Cassidy plan as well. Doak explained, “This kind of leadership and flexibility will provide long-term stability to our markets. If some states want Obamacare regulations, that’s great. That works for them, but that isn’t working for Oklahoma. We should have the opportunity to do something different.”
Gov. Fallin told Breitbart News in an exclusive statement that she remains “generally supportive of the proposal, but I still have a few questions on specifics.” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Breitbart News that he will reveal the legislation on Wednesday.
Fallin declared, “The Affordable Health Care Act is broken and Congress needs to fix it. Health care costs are out of control. It is a step forward. I believe adequately funded and flexible block grants to the states are the best option to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.”
