President Donald Trump challenged Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill to support tax reform, urging citizens to vote her out if she opposed the deal.
“She must do this for you and if she doesn’t do it for you, you have to have to vote her out of office,” Trump said as the crowd cheered and applauded. “She’s got to make that commitment.”
McCaskill did not respond to the president’s remarks on Twitter, despite serving as an anti-Trump messenger for Hillary Clinton during the presidential campaign. She is facing a tough re-election fight in 2018.
Trump expressed his frustration with Democrats for obstructing his agenda, referring to the universal party line opposition to the effort to replace Obamacare.
“The Dems are looking to obstruct tax cuts and tax reform, just like they obstructed so many other things, including administration appointments and healthcare,” he said.
Missouri Senator Roy Blunt joined Trump for his tax reform speech in the state on Wednesday.
