President Donald Trump ribbed the media on Wednesday night after two special election congressional victories in South Carolina and Georgia.
“I watched the faces on those newscasters, in many cases,” Trump said, pointing out that the media predicted a night of “humiliation” for Trump and positioned themselves in Georgia just to watch the Karen Handel race.
Trump made his remarks during a visit to Kirkwood Community College, where he highlighted the importance of technology and innovation in agriculture.
“Had our wonderful candidate lost, this would have been one of the great big stories in the history of American politics,” Trump said, referring to Handel, adding that the media would have talked about it “for weeks.”
He also praised Republican Ralph Norman for winning the special election in the 5th district of South Carolina.
“After it said ‘projected winner,’ they just sort of slinked out of there, they slinked out!” Trump said as the audience laughed.
He ridiculed one media personality for saying that maybe the weather is what caused the Democrats to lose.
