A disturbing online video shows a subway passenger with her head stuck between two subway doors while people walk past her on the station platform.
The woman found herself caught between the doors of a No. 4 train around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday as it made its final stop in Woodlawn in the Bronx, the New York Post reported.
Transit sources told the Post that the woman realized too late that it was the last stop and started to rush for the doors when her head got caught in the doors.
The video shows the woman standing inside the subway car with her head and black and white bag stuck between the two doors.
Someone waiting on the platform took a video of the incident, which has gone viral and amassed 1.3 million views on social media.
The clip shows an MTA worker walking past the woman in the clip, but the agency claims that the employee already spoke to the woman and told her the doors would open soon.
“While this is an unfortunate incident, the passenger was able to get out safely with assistance from our train operator,” said MTA spokeswoman Beth DeFalco. “Because the doors were ajar, the train was never in danger of moving.”
Officials say the woman declined medical assistance once she was freed.
