A Florida woman accused of shooting and killing her boyfriend told police who were investigating the crime scene, “Don’t worry about it.”
Paula Lynn Hobbs, 51, was arrested on a single charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of 63-year-old Evertt Leslie Humble, the Daily Mail reported.
Humble suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was soaked in blood by the time police arrived at the apartment complex on Cinderlane Parkway in Orlando.
A passerby saw Humble’s body on the couple’s back porch and dialed 911.
When police arrived to ask Hobbs about the body, she replied, “Don’t worry about it.”
Hobbs ran into the apartment and locked herself inside with the body before she surrendered to authorities, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
Hobbs reportedly told police, “If you tell me he is dead, I will tell you why I did it.”
Hobbs is being held without bail at the Orange County Jail.
The Sentinel reports that Hobbs has a lengthy rap sheet and has been arrested more than a dozen times. Her most recent arrest before the shooting was for battery domestic violence in August 2016.
WKMG reports that she was arrested then for allegedly attacking Humble while he performed as a DJ at a wedding reception.
She spent ten days behind bars following that arrest and still was on probation for the assault, according to jail records.
