President Donald Trump praised Speaker Paul Ryan on Fox & Friends Tuesday morning for his work on repealing and replacing Obamacare.

“You know, Paul is working very hard,” Trump said when asked about repealing Obamacare during the Fox & Friends interview.

Trump met with Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday.

“I think that Paul Ryan and his whole group have been terrific,” Trump said, noting that health care was a “very complex subject.”

Trump said that he and Congress were being blamed for the healthcare problem, although he was still relatively new to the job.

“They’ve been working on health care for 30 years,” Trump said. “I’ve only been here for — what is this, my fifth week?”

Trump said he was ready to propose a plan, something that he would discuss before a joint speech to both houses of Congress Tuesday night.

“I think it’s going to be something that’s going to be really respected,” he said.

During remarks to reporters after his meeting with Trump on Monday afternoon, Ryan previewed a new healthcare plan that would offer Americans “choice and freedom.”
