Late on Tuesday evening the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers cleared the way for the completion of the Dakota Access pipeline, sending liberals across the country into apoplexy on social media.

On the evening of February 7, the Army Corps of Engineers released a statement saying it will approve a permit for the pipeline.

“The Department of the Army announced today that it has completed a presidential-directed review of the remaining easement request for the Dakota Access pipeline, and has notified Congress that it intends to grant an easement for a right-of-way across government land at Lake Oahe Dam and Reservoir, North Dakota,” the Army said Tuesday.

The announcement sent opponents of the pipeline to Twitter to vent their rage — led by self-avowed socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Despite the news, some protesters were still hopeful that they can force the government to abandon the pipeline.
