A homeless man was indicted Tuesday for killing and castrating his lover, authorities said.
Court papers show that Jerry Pagan, 32, confessed to authorities that he murdered Richard Reed, 68, at his Bronx home in New York City, the New York Daily News reported.
“I stabbed him with a knife and hit him over the head with a hammer and cut off his penis and put it in the sink,” Pagan said to cops in a videotaped interview, the court papers show.
He added that he was going to “fry up the penis and eat it, too.”
Pagan appeared in Bronx Supreme Court Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and murder charges.
Pagan told police that he confronted Reed inside the apartment as revenge for having unprotected sex just days before and for Reed’s reluctance to give Pagan the money to get tested, according to court papers.
Pagan said that after hitting Reed over the head and stabbing him, he pushed Reed, who was bleeding, into a bathtub and tried to drown him.
He told police that he took a shower while his victim bled to death, and sat with the corpse for a day after the killing until police arrived Dec. 3 to arrest him.
Pagan told police that the victim’s penis was still in the sink when they arrived.
“If you don’t believe me, go check for yourself,” Pagan told police.
Court papers show that Pagan was eager to be arrested when officers approached him.
“I did it. Put the cuffs on me. Hurry up already,” Pagan told an officer.
Pagan is due back in court March 30 and is being held without bail, the Daily Mail reported.
