President-elect Donald Trump plans to meet with outgoing North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory on Wednesday, according to Trump’s transition team.
“On Wednesday the President-elect and other members of his senior team will be in New York at a transition fundraising breakfast first thing and then later in the morning, he will meet with Gov. Pat McCrory of North Carolina,” Republican National Committee Chief Strategist and Communication Director Sean Spicer told reporters on Tuesday.
On Monday, McCrory conceded his loss in a bid for re-election in a video, saying it’s time to “celebrate our democratic process and respect what I see to be the ultimate outcome of the closest North Carolina governor’s race in modern history.”
McCrory had challenged the results of his election, which showed his opponent North Carolina’s Democrat Attorney General Roy Cooper with a slight lead.
