President-elect Donald Trump’s spokesman Jason Miller is praising Steven Mnuchin, whom Trump plans to nominate for Secretary of the Treasury.
Miller described Mnuchin as a “world class financier, banker, businessman,” adding that,”he played a very key role in developing the President-elect tax plan.”
Mnuchin most recently served as Trump’s finance director during his campaign. He previously was the Chief Information Officer at Goldman Sachs.
He worked at Goldman Sachs for 17 years before founding Dune Capital Management, an investment firm, in 2004. In 2009, Mnuchin founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of OneWest Bank Group LLC.
He also has experience in the entertainment industry as he founded RatPac-Dune Entertainment, which produces films. Some of those films include: American Sniper, Avatar and the X-Men series.
Mnuchin, who graduated from Yale University, sits as a boards of a number of organizations including: New York Presbyterian Hospital, the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles (MOCA), Life Trustee of New York Presbyterian Hospital, UCLA Health System Board, and the Los Angeles Police Foundation.
Miller said Mnuchin has “talked about creating 25 million jobs over the next decade.”
“There is no better person than Steve Mnuchin” to help lead the fight on tax reform, Miller added.
