A man discovered $3.7 million worth of gold in a house he inherited from a deceased relative in France, KSTU reported.

“It was under the furniture, under piles of linen, in the bathroom … everywhere,” an auctioneer says.

The man, whose name has not been revealed, started moving furniture around, when he found a box of gold coins attached to the bottom of one piece.

As he kept looking around the house, he found an old box that once held a bottle of whiskey with more gold pieces hidden inside, AFP reports. By the time he was done, he found 5,000 gold pieces, two gold bars, and 37 gold ingots.

The gold weighed more than 200 pounds and was estimated to have been bought in the 1950s and 1960s.

The house is located in Evreux, Normandy, where three builders found $1 million worth of gold buried in a garden in 2011, the Telegraph reports.

The man has already sold his gold to several buyers, but he will not keep all the funds. He owes a 45 percent inheritance tax on the gold, in addition to three years of wealth taxes if his deceased relative did not pay the taxes during the last three years of his life.
