Some liberals in Hollywood aren’t letting facts or the 219-year tradition of peacefully transferring power get in their way as a new “audit the vote” movement is spreading among liberal elites, according to The Hill.
“Avengers” director Joss Whedon and actress Debra Messing are pushing for a recount at least in the few states where they think they might upset the election.
Whedon jumped to his Twitter account to urge his many comic-book-loving fans to “Demand an audit. Make the call. SHE WON.”
Jill Stein, the Green Party’s candidate, is fund-raising off the claim, while insisting that the money will fund a recount in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
On November 22, news broke that John Podesta, the campaign chief of Clinton’s second doomed bid for president, was taking meetings with “a group of prominent computer scientists and election lawyers” who are insisting there were “irregularities” in the Nov. 8 election results.
Most of the left’s favorite numbers crunchers were quick to say that this idea was at the very least a long shot. Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight blog even called it “probably BS.” Others, such as The Washington Post, scolded liberals saying, “Attention, Democrats: There’s still no good evidence that the election was rigged.”
The Hollywood reluctance to accept the results of the election is exactly the thing liberals warned that Republicans would do when they assumed Clinton couldn’t lose the race. At that time, liberals scolded their opponents and said it was un-American not to accept Clinton as the new Commander In Chief.
Meanwhile, other Americans on twitter are having fun at Whedon’s expense.
