On March 2, 2015, the day that the New York Times broke the story about Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server and a private email exclusively for government business at the State Department, Clinton campaign chief John Podesta emailed Robby Mook, the campaign manager.

“Did you have any idea of the depth of this story?” Podesta asked.

“Nope,” Mook replied. “We brought up the existence of emails in reserach (sic) this summer but were told that everything was taken care of.”

The email confirms that many of Hillary Clinton’s biggest secrets are closely guarded by her inner circle of loyalists, while her top campaign officials are forced to fly blind.

Mook’s frustrations with Clinton’s inner circle also boiled over in February of 2015.

“All these secret investigations really need to stop. I literally don’t have time for these games,” Mook vented to Pedesta. he was complaining about Clinton aide Cheryl Mills investigating potential employees. “If she has an issue- call or send an email, we can deal with it and move on. She can call Marc. But the secret shit has to stop. It’s a giant time suck.”

Behind Mook’s back, the inner circle of Clinton aides from the State Department swapped emails about how bad the issue was.

Former State Department loyalist Anne-Marie Slaughter vented in a March 7 email that it was common practice for Clinton aides to use private email addresses for government business..

“Honestly, OTR, EVERYONE I knew at State used our private email,” she wrote.

Former Clinton State Department aide replied, with Podesta, Mills, and communications director Jennifer Palmieri in the email conversation.

“There
Is
Just
No
Good
Answer,” he wrote.

Mook, however, was not apparently part of that conversation.
