St. LOUIS, Missouri — Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile said Juanita Broaddrick has a right to be heard.
“Juanita Broaddrick is a citizen and any citizen has a right in the country under the First Amendment to say and do whatever, but doesn’t Hillary Clinton deserve an opportunity as a candidate for office to talk about the issues that impact all Americans?” Brazile responded when asked if Broaddrick has a right to be believed in the media spin room after Sunday night’s second presidential debate in St. Louis, Missouri.
Broaddrick, who has alleged that President Bill Clinton sexually assaulted her in 1978 and Hillary Clinton intimidated her, has spoken out in support of Donald Trump and sat in the audience during Sunday night’s debate.
Brazile continued:
When I think that it’s important to understand that if Alicia Machado has a right to be heard, every citizen has a right to be heard. Rosie O’Donnell, Megyn Kelly, everyone that Donald Trump has insulted deserves to be heard — not just the ones Donald Trump wants to hear from. But I think we should hear from the voters who I thought tonight wanted to hear clear examples of what we’re going to do to strengthen the economy, what we’re going to do to improve the Affordable Care Act and what we’re going to do about the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
“Donald Trump was incoherent. He paced the floor because I think he had nothing to say,” Brazile added.
When asked if Kathy Shelton, the 12-year-old rape victim whose rapist was defended by Hillary Clinton, deserves to have her story heard, Brazile said there has been opportunities for that.
“We have had, as you know, plenty of opportunities,” Brazile replied about Shelton. “As I’ve said repeatedly, what happened in the 1990s, Hillary Clinton was hurt, Chelsea was hurt, but by bringing his guests Donald Trump showed that he doesn’t care about the issues that the American people care about– he cares about– his actions, which he failed to apologize for tonight.”
