Donald Trump’s Virginia campaign chair Corey Stewart is criticizing Sen. Tim Kaine’s (D-VA) debate performance, saying it reminds his constituents that “Kaine is not a good executive.”

“Kaine demonstrated that he doesn’t have the demeanor to be President of the United States,” Stewart said during a phone interview with Breitbart News on Wednesday.

Kaine interrupted Pence 70 times in a 90-minute debate, according to ABC News. Stewart thought their demeanor during the debate was crucial in drawing a contrast between the two leaders.

“Pence knocked it out of the ballpark,” Stewart said, praising Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence. “He was calm, cool and collected and that was the most important thing. I don’t think there was any definitive moment as much as there was just the difference in demeanor. [It] couldn’t have been more stark.”

Although Kaine had home state advantage during the debate in Farmville, Virginia, a CNN poll found more people thought Pence won the debate.

Stewart said Kaine’s exchange about September 11 was “embarrassing” and may influence some Virginia voters.

“When Pence was talking about 9-11 and Kaine said, ‘Well, I was there. I was [lieutenant] governor at that point,’ and Pence coolly looked at him and said, ‘I understand that,’ I thought that was kind of a constructive moment,” Stewart critiqued.

“Virginia was reminded last night that Kaine was not a good governor,” he added, saying Pence “reminded Virginians that the Kaine years were really bad years — a $4 billion tax increase, rising unemployment, a loss of tens of thousands of manufacturing jobs — and I think that’s really going to hurt him in the sense that it reminds Virginians that Kaine is not a good executive.”
