Trump: Clinton Never Fought Tax Laws as Senator, ‘She Named a Few Buildings — That’s All She Did’

Donald Trump held a campaign rally in Prescott Valley, Arizona at the Prescott Valley Event Center on Tuesday afternoon, where thousands lined up to see the Republican nominee.

Trump said the vice presidential debate between his running mate Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and Hillary Clinton’s running mate Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) Tuesday night will show the contrast between his campaign of new ideas and Clinton’s campaign, which he says is stuck in the past.

“Clinton can’t talk about real problems facing our country because she’s the one who helped create those problems in the first place,” Trump jabbed.

He also addressed the recent New York Times report about his tax returns that suggested the New Yorker may have avoided paying taxes for more than a decade.

The New York Times reported that Trump “declared a $916 million loss on his 1995 income tax returns, a tax deduction so substantial it could have allowed him to legally avoid paying any federal income taxes for up to 18 years.”

Trump responded to the report by criticizing Clinton for not changing the tax laws while she was a senator.

“After years of failure, she complains about how I’ve used the tax laws of this country to my benefit,” Trump stated about Clinton. “Why didn’t she ever try to change those laws so I couldn’t use them? You know why? She could have changed the laws when she was in the United States Senate. She named a few buildings — that’s all she did.”

Trump suggested she didn’t change tax laws because of her donors, saying they most likely used the tax laws the same way he did. “I know all of their names.”

Trump alleged that Clinton supporter George Soros declared $1.5 billion in losses and alleged Warren Buffett declared $873 million. “Ask them, did they write off those losses?”

“Just take a look at her donors,” Trump said, adding he will be the one to fix the tax laws.

“I’m going to fix it so it’s fair and just,” he vowed. “I’m my donor.”

“America needs come back,” Trump declared. “America needs change…and that’s why I’m running.”

Prior to his campaign rally in Arizona, Trump spent the morning with oil and gas industry experts in Colorado.

The Republican nominee posted on Twitter that he will be watching Pence during the debate and live tweeting on Tuesday night.
