Donald Trump claims his campaign has raised at least $13 million in the 24 hours since Monday night’s first presidential debate against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
“In the last 24 hrs. we have raised over $13M from online donations and National Call Day, and we’re still going! Thank you America! #MAGA,” Trump posted on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.
The Republican nominee raised roughly $90 million in August and has raised more in small donations than both 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney and 2008 Republican nominee John McCain.
***UPDATE***
Trump’s campaign and the Republican Party raised at least $17 million in the past 24 hours after Monday night’s first presidential debate with Clinton.
“The haul–about a fifth of the total amount Mr. Trump raised for his campaign and joint accounts in all of August–will likely help Mr. Trump’s September fundraising draw closer to rival Hillary Clinton’s, whose coffers have far outpaced his over the course of the election,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
