An NRA ad released on September 20 highlights the trepidation of a home invasion and warns women not to let Hillary Clinton leave them with only a phone for self-defense.
The ad begins with a woman asleep alone in bed. The shadow of a would-be intruder moves outside the window. The sound of breaking glass wakes the woman, who grabs a phone to call the police and moves toward a gun vault to retrieve her handgun.
A narrator says, “She’ll call 911. Average response time, 11 minutes.” After a brief pause, the narrator adds, “Too late.”
The narrator then explains that the woman keeps a firearm for self-defense, but the ability to be armed in such moments is jeopardized by Hillary Clinton’s gun control push.
The woman opens her safe to reveal the handgun. The gun then disappears as the narrator says, “But Hillary Clinton could take away her right to self-defense–and with Supreme Court justices, Hillary can.”
The gun-free, defenseless woman then stands with terror in her eyes and nothing in her hands but a telephone. The intruder is drawing near. The narrator says, “Don’t let Hillary leave you protected with nothing but a phone.”
