Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s remark about Trump supporters being a “basket of deplorables” has sparked outrage among many on the right.
Clinton said in a speech to donors on Friday that “half of Trump supporters” would fall into what she calls “the basket of deplorables…the racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it.”
#BasketOfDeplorables is the number one trending topic on Twitter, and it has prompted quite a bit of backlash against Clinton.
Some people found the term downright offensive.
Eric Trump took it as an opportunity to show how many people Clinton pissed off.
GOP pollster Frank Luntz called the phrase “insulting” to “millions of hard-working Americans.”
Comedian Steven Crowder tweeted a meme of Hillary saying she should be in the basket of deplorables.
James Woods said that many of Clinton’s “deplorables” vote.
One Twitter user pointed out how “deplorable” it was for Clinton to get kissed on the cheek by a KKK grand wizard.
KT McFarland questioned whether politicians like Clinton still believe in this country.

Trump’s social media director said it was sad that Clinton called law enforcement officers “deplorable.”
One Twitter user called Clinton’s statement “patronizing.”
Ed Morrissey tweeted out a picture of Clinton and her aides and called them “deplorable.”
Todd Starnes was offended that Clinton’s statement covered those that believe in traditional marriage.
Another Twitter user called Clinton’s statement “inaccurate.”
And then, there were some who decided to poke fun at Clinton’s statement.
Republican VP candidate Mike Pence also weighed in on the controversy.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump called Clinton’s remarks “insulting” to many of his supporters and said that he even respects Clinton’s supporters even though they would never vote for him.
